- Verified
- The retrieved source text matches the quoted words CiteMatch checked.
- Mismatch
- The retrieved source uses different words. Review the quotation and source.
- Not found
- The supported lookup path did not find the cited source.
- Source unavailable
- CiteMatch could not retrieve enough source text to perform the check.
- Ambiguous
- More than one citation may be associated with the quotation. Review the candidates.
Privacy-safe support
Document text stays local. Do not send a brief, client name, quoted passage, citation list, source-provider key, or payment credential. Support needs operational metadata, not document content. Review the privacy policy for the exact hosted-data boundary.
Known limits
- CiteMatch checks citation details and quoted words against source text it can retrieve.
- It does not decide whether authority is still good law, whether a quotation is fair in context, or whether a source supports an argument.
- Coverage is limited to supported federal, D.C., and Maryland source paths. Unsupported or unavailable sources require independent review.
- No generative model produces a verification verdict.
- Word for Mac and Word for Windows remain prelaunch until the current production bundle passes the published real-Word release gate. Word on the web is not a launch-supported platform.
